Thousands of people flock to sunny South Florida year after year during the summer to enjoy the beach, sun, and outdoors. This year is no different. Americans are also uprooting their families and starting new lives here in the Sunshine State each day. If you’ve thought about moving here, have you thought about what you’ll do with your home during the summertime? Not only are there certain weatherizing tips that should be done during the summer season, but you want to keep the outside of your home as pristine as possible.

During the summer, we tend to be outside more on nice days and enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities Sarasota has to provide. However, sometimes we do get a bit of rain during that time. Always ensure your windows are tightly sealed to weather strong winds and rain. Hurricane proof windows are not only safe but now they are becoming quite stylish in Southwest Florida. There are many companies that are offering many tiny and stylish variations.

What about one of the first things pedestrians notice when passing your house? Your front door. Make sure that your doors are looking as fresh as they can be for the summertime! Make sure the front door is freshly painted. Try an accent color to switch it up. Have some fun with it. Secondly, similar to the windows, make sure that your doors are tightly sealed with outdoor caulk and a weatherization strip. The rain can also have an affect on doors, as well.

What about landscaping? Landscaping is a pivotal component to keeping your home tidy. First and foremost: trees. Ever have too many trees cluttering your yard and even blocking the beautiful view? Have a tree-trimmer or landscaper trim it down or remove them completely. Unless the trees are well maintained they can become an eye sore.
