Casey Key, Florida is a secluded 8 mile long barrier island in Nokomis located just 15 miles south of downtown Sarasota. Whether you bike or drive the winding street (only one) of Casey Key, you’ll discover a mix of “old Florida” among the newly budding exclusive waterfront mansions. At the southern tip the public has access to a public beach at the Venice Jetty where fishermen cast their lines from the rocks and watch dolphin cavort in the channel. The scenic views of Casey Key homes and shoreline can be glimpsed through openings in the foliage along the twisting, canopied drive north. There are two bridges connecting the island to the mainland. The north bridge onto Casey Key is one of only two swing bridges dating back to the 1920’s.
