Officially, the downtown district encompasses a small area by the bay, bordered by Fruitville Road in the north, South Shade Avenue in the east, and Highway 41 in the south. Downtown Sarasota real estate is typically classified as luxury, regardless of type or construction date. The bayfront condo complexes are a mixture of older and newer buildings, with both more traditional and modern styles being represented—1350 Main Street and Vue Sarasota Bay being just two examples of this.

One of the biggest charms of Downtown Sarasota condos is their view of the waterfront. There are a number of buildings in the downtown that overlook the bay—one of the most desirable features these units can have—but this is only one of many amenities offered.
