Discover Condos For Sale In Downtown Sarasota

Recognized for its vibrant atmosphere and picturesque neighborhoods, Downtown Sarasota is a desirable place to live for a number of reasons. Officially, the downtown district encompasses a small area by the bay, bordered by Fruitville Road in the north, South Shade Avenue in the east, and Highway 41 in the south. What is generally considered to be downtown extends a little past these points, but is centered on this part of the city.

While the downtown district is the heart of the city, Sarasota is perhaps more well-known for its waterfront homes and condos—the latter of which are some of the most desirable properties in the area. Sarasota’s real estate market includes a range of property types, however the luxury condos on the bay are highly sought-after for their incredible views and excellent amenities.

Like the homes in Downtown Sarasota, condos for sale embrace a range of styles and types. This includes the high-rises of the bayfront as well as the low and mid-rise condos located further inland. As these properties are quite different from each other, they each have their own features and highlights, which appeal to different types of homebuyers.

Park Lane, for example, is a low-rise condominium complex that offers an exceptional location (within walking distance to the bay, shops, restaurants, and more) at a competitive price. Although units are typically smaller in the square footage, with one bedroom and two bedroom options available, this is a great choice for those searching for a Sarasota vacation property, or even for investment purposes. In contrast, Bay Plaza is a high-rise complex just steps away from the waterfront, exclusively selling at the luxury price point. With exceptional views, units in this building have often been upgraded, and make for a fantastic year-round residence.

Downtown Sarasota real estate is typically classified as luxury, regardless of type or construction date. The bayfront condo complexes are a mixture of older and newer buildings, with both more traditional and modern styles being represented—1350 Main Street and Vue Sarasota Bay being just two examples of this.

Explore Top Amenities In Downtown Sarasota

One of the biggest charms of Downtown Sarasota condos is their view of the waterfront. There are a number of buildings in the downtown that overlook the bay—one of the most desirable features these units can have—but this is only one of many amenities offered.

Smaller, low and mid-rise condos in and around Downtown Sarasota may not have the views of the bay, but still do offer excellent amenities. While this, of course, varies between buildings, some of the complexes in the area offer a private clubhouse for resident use, meeting and event rooms, an outdoor pool, a fitness center or other sports courts, and more.

The luxury condos for sale along the waterfront have some incredible amenities (this, once again, varies from building to building, however). In-building features include concierge services and additional security, event and club rooms, a fitness center (and sometimes spa), pool, and more. Some of the buildings in the area have a rooftop terrace with entertaining space, as well. In some of the luxury penthouses, a private elevator is available. New luxury condos are also sometimes found on the market, such as the Quay Sarasota/One Park development. This complex, called a community, is part of the Ritz-Carlton and has some incredible amenities planned.

Residents of Downtown Sarasota condos are just a short drive or walk away from the city center and all of its attractions, which includes the Sarasota Opera House, the Farmers Market, and the shops and restaurants along Main Street.
