There are a multitude of serene parks for seniors to walk, skate, bike, and stretch on. Believe it or not, there is even an option for horseback riding on these trails.

Not to worry, for those with disabilities or want a slower pace on the trails, a majority of the parks have paved trails for easy accessibility. In addition, there are always handicapped parking spots lining the roads within these parks.

For those looking for additional adventurous activities, you have options to take a riverboat tour at Myakka River State Park in Venice. The scenery is breathtaking and sometimes you'll even spot some herons, snook, manatee and turtles.

Seniors can also embark on guided nature walks through the remarkable Legacy trail where folks can learn more about local history, nature and wildlife in the area. A couple other main nature attractions are Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and Sarasota Jungle Gardens.
